Peter Lionel Briger is the serving Principal and co-chairman at Fortress Credit Corporation. He graduated from Princeton University with a B.A and later enrolled to the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania where Peter Lionel Briger earned an M.B.A. The self-made billionaire has been ranked the 317th wealthiest man in the world with a net worth of 1.5 Billion dollars.

Before joining Fortress Investment Group in 2002, Peter had worked at Goldman Sach & Co for nine years before he became a partner in 1996. He served as the Co-chairman of several departments among them being the Trading businesses and Whole Loan Sales department, Fixed income Principal investment Group, Asian Real Estate Private businesses and Goldman Sachs Special opportunities based in Asia. Mr. Briger has been a member of the Fortress Investment Group management committee since he joined and has led the debt securities department alongside the real estate business. He works with a team of about 300 people whose primary focus is on undervalued properties and distressed credit investment.

The Fortress Investment Group Co-partner is among the most philanthropic wealthy men who enjoy giving back to the society by supporting non-profit organizations that are making life easier for the local communities. He is a member of the Tipping Point board, a non-profit organization in San Fransisco that works around bettering the lives of low-income families. Briger extends his generosity to Princeton University by funding professorship and is among the only three alumni individuals who have given a contribution to support the Alumni Entrepreneurs Fund(AEF).

Peter’s contribution to Princeton University was a generous funding program. As a successful alumnus, he would like to help Amateur entrepreneurs build successful career paths. This particular program is meant to provide funds for upcoming companies and is awarded to the University’s graduate entrepreneurs. Having a successful first phase of contribution, Peter Briger and other alumni are planning for a second phase and all graduates within the past five years are eligible.
