Graham Edwards Emphasizes Philanthropy as Telereal Trillium CEO

Graham Edwards joined Telereal Trillium in 2001. This was just before a merger secured the property management company as the largest such business in the U.K. Since that time, Graham has worked to improve the company’s philanthropic and charitable works, feeling that it’s especially important for the real estate investment firm to give back.

Telereal Trillium Started with Donation Matching

Edwards pushed the idea of a donation matching scheme as early as 2003, believing that Telereal Trillium could afford to match the charitable efforts of it’s employees. The program let’s employees choose their charity and donate up to a predetermined limit, which the company will match.

Since its inception, the donation matching scheme has grown to become one if Telereal Trillium’s most successful and most popular corporate responsibility programs. Even the maximum donation amount reflects his much Telereal Trillium’s depth of giving has grown over the years. In 2003, the real estate investment firm would match donations up to £500. That amount has exploded in the intervening years and they will now match employee contributions up to £2,500.

Telereal Trillium Employees Give from the Heart

Graham Edwards often expresses the pride he feels over the donation matching scheme. That pride is not misplaced. In just the last few years, employee participation in the program has grown quite a bit. In the 2009/2010 season, employee participation was just at 10%, but, by the 2015/2016 season, that rate had grown to 44% staff involvement.

Just last year, the Telereal Trillium donation matching scheme raised £131,663, just from employees. That amount was divided between 103 different charities in the U.K. Combined with the £81,708 matched by the company, the program donated a total of £213,371.

Telereal Trillium’s charity hasn’t gone unnoticed or unrecognized. The company has received a number of awards, celebrating their willingness to share their wealth with those in need. Recently, Graham Edwards accepted the Payroll Giving Quality Mark Award on behalf of the company. This is a government sponsored award that merits businesses for encouraging employee donations to charitable causes. There are different levels to the award, based on the number of employees participating in payroll donations. Telereal Trillium has been granted the gold award seven times.
