Passion is the primary trait needed to be a successful entrepreneur. In an article by Forbes magazine, many of the traits are listed, but passion is number one. There are no entrepreneurs in the world who are in business for money. They want to make the world better by offering something that is close to their heart. This passion is what it means to be an entrepreneur. The single thing that you feel like you cannot live without is what you should be doing. The art, or business, or book, or app is what you should be focusing your energy on. Entrepreneurs understand that this is what it takes. They use their passion and throw themselves headfirst into their projects. This is how businesses are created and how industries are built. The passion of Steve jobs created Apple. The passion of Jose Hawilla created the football industry.

Passion can be cultivated easily. It is that thing that is closest to your heart. If you are not sure what your talent is or what you like to do, then start by looking around your room or looking at your internet history. The things that you surround yourself with will tell you your passion. If there is one thing that you search for more than others, then that is the thing you are attracted to most. The books you read and the shows you watch can also be sources of inspiration. The passion will come naturally once you have identified where your attention is going. Check out Medium to see more.

Jose Hawilla had the fortune of knowing what his passion was from the beginning. He had a passion for football. He believed in the industry in Brazil, and knew that it could be big. Jose Hawilla took that passion and drove it into the industry that it is today. He started his business in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and it is still headquartered there today. Jose Hawilla is an example of someone that can teach others how to find their passion. He had many people who doubted him, but he was able to ignore them thanks to his passion. Glen Wakeman of GE Capital Helps Business Owners

Glen Wakeman, CEO of Launchpad Holdings, LLC, is the ex-CEO of GE Money Latin America. GE Money Latin America oversaw 9 countries and had 15 billion dollars in assets, with over 17,000 employees. Glenn has lived in six different countries and worked in 32. He currently helps struggling business owners by reframing their view on business and how they can provide value to potential clients. He stresses the importance of providing rather than selling; in other words, be an asset to people and in return you will receive value (Medium).

His extensive involvement with GE Capital, in addition to his MBA at the University of Chicago, has led him to be valuable source of help for struggling entrepreneurs and business owners. Glen spent 20 plus years extensively working his way up into GE Capital with more and more complex roles. In London as a general director of GE Capital, he grew a company from 2 million dollars to 10 million dollars and added over 30 billion dollars in assets to the company.

Glen Wakeman is also a certified black belt, and received his BS in Economics and Finance at the University of Scranton. His views on becoming productive in day-to-day operations are to start by looking at the prior day’s numbers in terms of sales, cash, and other figures. Make an outline, set up meetings for sales, tweak new designs, and pay all bills needed. He brings ideas to fruition by explaining them verbally to other people, and it is this process that brings them to life; it forces him to defend his ideas, and this in turn make them a reality.

Glen is has accomplished amazing feats in the business world, starting from working his way up by cleaning bathrooms at an auto parts factory. It was this experience, although not the best, which taught him the meaning of hard work and that it is appreciated across all aspects of business. He suggests that business owners question everything, including even his own value proposition. Be an astute businessman.

Graham Edwards Emphasizes Philanthropy as Telereal Trillium CEO

Graham Edwards joined Telereal Trillium in 2001. This was just before a merger secured the property management company as the largest such business in the U.K. Since that time, Graham has worked to improve the company’s philanthropic and charitable works, feeling that it’s especially important for the real estate investment firm to give back.

Telereal Trillium Started with Donation Matching

Edwards pushed the idea of a donation matching scheme as early as 2003, believing that Telereal Trillium could afford to match the charitable efforts of it’s employees. The program let’s employees choose their charity and donate up to a predetermined limit, which the company will match.

Since its inception, the donation matching scheme has grown to become one if Telereal Trillium’s most successful and most popular corporate responsibility programs. Even the maximum donation amount reflects his much Telereal Trillium’s depth of giving has grown over the years. In 2003, the real estate investment firm would match donations up to £500. That amount has exploded in the intervening years and they will now match employee contributions up to £2,500.

Telereal Trillium Employees Give from the Heart

Graham Edwards often expresses the pride he feels over the donation matching scheme. That pride is not misplaced. In just the last few years, employee participation in the program has grown quite a bit. In the 2009/2010 season, employee participation was just at 10%, but, by the 2015/2016 season, that rate had grown to 44% staff involvement.

Just last year, the Telereal Trillium donation matching scheme raised £131,663, just from employees. That amount was divided between 103 different charities in the U.K. Combined with the £81,708 matched by the company, the program donated a total of £213,371.

Telereal Trillium’s charity hasn’t gone unnoticed or unrecognized. The company has received a number of awards, celebrating their willingness to share their wealth with those in need. Recently, Graham Edwards accepted the Payroll Giving Quality Mark Award on behalf of the company. This is a government sponsored award that merits businesses for encouraging employee donations to charitable causes. There are different levels to the award, based on the number of employees participating in payroll donations. Telereal Trillium has been granted the gold award seven times.
